NL Prerequisites in Manitoba:
- 15 years old (by last day)
- Lifesaving Society Bronze Cross Certificate *need not be current*
- Standard* First Aid (SFA) *need not be current* (Currency is recommended)
Lifeguard Qualification in Manitoba:
- 16 year's of age
- Current NL Certification
- Those working waterfront, will require the Waterfront or Surf NL as well
- Current Standard* First Aid (SFA)
- Current Level "C" CPR

Assistant Lifeguard Qualification in Manitoba:
- 16 year's of age
- Current Lifesaving Society Bronze Cross Award
- Current Standard* First Aid (SFA)
- Current Level "C" CPR
* STANDARD FIRST AID is a two or three day 16-24 hour first aid course. It should not be confused with the one day Emergency First Aid (EFA). Check your qualifications card closely!
